Why keep a reading journal?
We remember more of what we write down. A journal structures your reading, strengthens your memory, and reveals your tastes.
It also becomes a beautiful personal object to flip through, like an album of literary memories.
Lizia tip: its soft light lets you jot down an idea or a quote without turning on the whole room.
Essential pages to include
Start simple, then add sections as you need them:
- TBR (to-be-read list) and new wishes
- Current reads & quick impressions
- “Finished book” sheets (rating, summary, favorite character)
- Quote book & memorable passages
- List of books lent/borrowed
Fun trackers & creative ideas
Add visual trackers: minutes read, genres, moods, places (bed, park, train). Create a reading bingo, a “literary journey” map, or themed pages (autumn, summer…).
Routine and tools (paper or digital)
2 to 5 minutes after each session are enough. Paper (bullet journal) for the tactile feel, or an app/Notion for quick searching. Lizia also works as a bookmark to quickly find the passage you want to note, while lighting your page.
